LAST WEEK'S MEETING   BACK ON ZOOM !   LAST WEEK'S SPEAKER   Liz Hooper, President of U3A Nunawading spoke to us about U3A University of the Third age or U3A is an international movement for retired and semi-retired people It was founded in Toulouse France in 1973 by Prof Pierre Vellas of the faculty of Social Sciences. In France all U3A’ s are associated with universities and this academic model is featured throughout Europe. This model has the advantage of providing the organisation with highly qualified teaching personnel and a large variety of subject choices including computer skills. Languages, business, law, religion and politics. AIUTA ( http://aiu3a.org/) is the global international organisation and network of Universities of the Third Age, and is presently presided over by Prof Francois Vellas, the son of Pierre-the founder of U3A.   Read more... REPORTS CHANGEOVER 2021     President Elect Ben invited members to attend  our Changeover dinner     on Friday June 25th at 6:30 pm   at  Amor Mexico Shop 2, 20 Blackburn Road Blackburn, VIC 3130 COST: $50 PP. Cost includes a drink on arrival and a 3 course meal plus coffee and tea. You can BYO or purchase drinks at bar prices Details and registration and payment online via invitation emailed to members. If you can need more tickets please let me know and I will organise.   Remember the club keeps the whole $2.00 sale price of a ticket, making it a great way to raise funds for the club.
